Our experience with Intact and why we no longer deal with them
I was involved in a mishap today when I was rear-ended in Bell's Corner around 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2011. Please find copies of the Police Report attached. The copies are of poor quality since the police officer got the accident report copied at a local store and the quality is poor, not because I scanned it.

The accident report number is 11-253861, dated Saturday, August 27, 2011 and the time that the officer arrived on site was about 10:10 AM. The location was in the east lane of Robertson Road and corner with Richmond Road in Bell's Corner. The police officer's name is Cst. xxxx and his badge number xxxx.

Sequence of events:
The car in front of me was a Toyota, driven by xxxxx who had stopped at the red light, followed by me in the Ford Flex followed by a Ford mini van. The light turned green and the Toyota started off to make a right hand turn onto Robertson Road when I was hit hard twice from behind and pushed into the Toyota that was turning right. Other than some minor burns from the hot tea I was drinking that splashed all over me, the car and upholstery, no physical damage was sustained, other than perhaps whip-lash by the passenger of the Toyota ahead of me.

The car causing the accident was a Ford mini van driven by xxxxx.  Based on what the officer indicated, xxxxx has been/will be charged with reckless or dangerous driving.

My car sustained damage to the front bumper, grill and other support structures when it hit the trailer hitch of the Toyota in front of me. The Toyota SUV did not sustain any damage.

The rear of my car has a damaged bumper, license plate and possible other damaged underneath or behind the bumper that could not be verified on site.

At this time, the interior electronics and control panel appears to be working even though everything was covered/soaked in tea. The same applies to the front and some of the rear upholstery.

The accident as reported to Intact Insurance:
Intact's Complaint Officer finally responded by apologizing for any inconvenience caused without addressing the specifics of the complaint.
